Cabinet clears bill seeking new age-based classification of films

Though the draft of the legislation is not available in public domain, government sources said it aims to comprehensively address the issues relating to film certification, improve the procedure for certification of films for public exhibition by the Central Board of Film Certification, and introduce new age-based categorisations of certifications of films, dividing the existing UA category into three age-based categories of seven years (UA 7+), 13 years (UA 13+), and 16 years (UA 16+), in place of the previous 12 years.

After 6 years in jail, pvt eye & wife let off in extortion case

Special judge A M Patil referred to three alleged meetings between the accused and Mopalwar where the alleged demand for money was made. Govt notifies new animal birth control rules to deal with menace of stray dogs

The move comes in the backdrop of the incident where an elderly person was mauled to death by six-seven stray dogs in a park inside the Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) campus last week. It was, however, not the only such recent incident. In March, a family in southwest Delhi's Vasant Kunj area lost their two sons, aged seven and five, within a gap of two days. Both the children were mauled to death by stray dogs.

Covid-19 claims 24 more deaths, positivity rate climbs to 8.4%
