Violence returned to Manipur's Imphal valley after a brief lull with unidentified gunmen shooting dead two persons and critically wounding three others in a Tuesday afternoon attack at a village in Imphal West district bordering Kangpokpi, a hill district. A 20-year-old Pakistani intruder has been arrested by BSF from a forward area along the international border in Jammu’s Makwal. Officials on Tuesday said BSF troops observed suspicious movement along the international border in the Makwal area. They challenged the suspect and took him into custody. A Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist, Bilal Ahmed Bhat, involved in a series of killings of soldiers, migrant workers, and Pandits, was gunned down in an encounter in Kashmir's Shopian district.
