Election Commission eases rally curbs, raises cap for outdoor meetings

Allowing a physical poll campaign to begin across the five poll-bound states from Tuesday in view of the flattening curve of Covid infections, the Election Commission on Monday allowed in-person public meetings in open spaces subject to a cap of 1,000 participants, up from 500 earlier, while also raising the attendance ceiling for indoor meetings to 500 persons from 300. The relaxations will apply uniformly to all the seven phases.

Community transmission of Omicron on, says Insacog

No leak of data from CoWin, says govt, adds feature to app

The health ministry on Friday clarified that no data has leaked from the CoWin portal and the entire data of residents is safe and secure on this digital platform. It also added two new features to the online platform that played a significant role in implementation of the countrywide Covid vaccination programme. Now six members, instead of four, can be registered for vaccination using one mobile number. Besides, beneficiaries can also correct their vaccination status on CoWin.
