Galwan-hurt PLA officer is torch bearer at Winter Olympics

A PLA regiment commander, Qi Fabao, who sustained head injury while fighting “bravely” in the Galwan clash with India, was a torchbearer at Beijing 2022 Winter Olympic Torch Relay on Wednesday, reported the Chinese media. According to a report in Global Times, Qi, the regimental commander from the People’s Liberation Army (PLA) Xinjiang military command, took the flame from Wang Meng, China’s four-time Olympic short track speed skating champion.
