Union road transport minister Nitin Gadkari criticized engineers and officers for bidding out projects without sufficient land, causing delays and disputes. He also blamed consultants for preparing imperfect detailed project reports (DPRs). Gadkari mentioned that government officers have contributed to bankruptcies of some companies by not making decisions, leading to halted work. He emphasized the importance of high-quality DPRs and suggested raising the cost of preparing them to save construction costs and reduce litigation in the sector.
