As wheat buy dips, govt may use more rice in Ann Yojana

A sharp decline in government procurement of wheat, aggressive buying by private players, and dip in harvest have forced the government to consider substituting around 75% of the wheat allocation to the states for beneficiaries of the PM Garib Kalyan Ann Yojna (PMGKAY) with rice, barring three states — Punjab, Rajasthan and Haryana, TOI has learnt.
