In last 6 years violence subsided in Northeast: Amit Shah

Violence in the Northeast subsided in the last six years as almost all armed groups gave up weapons one after the other, said Union home minister Amit Shah in Imphal, the capital city of Manipur on Sunday. Shah, who is on a 3-day visit to Northeast, said that as many as 644 cadres of eight extremist groups surrendered with over 2,500 arms and joined the mainstream.
